Ramipril 5 mg is the name of the white, red, capsule-shaped, oblong pill with imprint > RP 5. Cobalt Laboratories Inc. provides it.

Ramipril, which is a member of the angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor medication class, is used to treat heart failure, left ventricular dysfunction, high blood pressure, diabetic kidney disease, and cardiovascular risk reduction. Positive evidence exists about human fetal risk during pregnancy. The prohibited Substances Act (CSA) does not classify 5 mg of ramipril as a prohibited substance.

USES

One such ACE inhibitor is ramipril. Angiotensin converting enzyme is referred to as ACE.

Ramipril is used to treat congestive heart failure, high blood pressure (hypertension), and to increase heart attack survivability.

WARNINGS

If you are expecting, stay away from ramipril. As soon as you find out you are pregnant, stop taking this medication and contact your doctor.

If you have ever had angioedema, you should avoid using ramipril. Avoid taking this medication for 36 hours before or after taking any sacubatril-containing medications (like Entresto).

Avoid using ramipril with any drug that contains aliskiren if you have diabetes (such as Tekturna or Tekamlo).

Prior to using this medication
In the event that you are allergic to ramipril, or if:

You’ve previously had angioedema.

you recently took sacubatril, a cardiac medication; or

if any other ACE inhibitor, including benazepril, captopril, enalapril, fosinopril, lisinopril, moexipril, perindopril, quinapril, or trandolapril, causes allergic reactions in you.

SIDE EFFECTS

If you have any symptoms of a ramipril allergic reaction, get emergency medical attention: hives; intense abdominal pain; dysphagia; facial, lip, tongue, or throat swelling.

Make a quick call to your doctor if you have:

a sense of lightheadedness, as if you could faint;

jaundice (skin or eyes turning yellow);

minimal or absent urinating

symptoms of the flu, cold, or sore throat, fever, or chills; or

nausea, weakness, tingling sensation, chest pain, irregular heartbeats, and loss of movement are all signs of excessive potassium.

Typical adverse effects of ramipril could be:

headache

cough; or

weakness, fatigue, and lightheadedness.
