USES

Absorica is a form of vitamin A that is used to treat severe nodular acne that has not responded to other treatments, including antibiotics.

Absorica is available only from a certified pharmacy under a special program called iPLEDGE.

Absorica may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

SIDE EFFECTS

If you have any of the following symptoms: fever, sore throat, burning eyes, skin pain, red or purple skin rash with blistering and peeling; or signs of a severe skin response (hives, difficulty breathing, swelling in your face or throat), get emergency medical attention.

Absorica adverse effects might be rather severe. If you have, cease using Absorica immediately and contact your doctor.

heightened urination and thirst;

hallucinations, in which one sees or hears unreal

symptoms of depression: unexpected mood swings, weeping fits, low self-esteem, loss of interest in once-enjoyed activities, trouble sleeping, thoughts of self-harm;

indications of liver or pancreas problems–loss of appetite, upper stomach pain

WARNINGS

A single dosage of absorbica might result in serious birth abnormalities or even death for the unborn child. If you are or could become pregnant, never use Absorica.

Before taking Absorica, a negative pregnancy test is required. In addition, while taking this medication, you will need to use two methods of birth control to avoid getting pregnant. If you suspect you might be pregnant, stop taking this medication and give your doctor a call right once.

Prior to using this medication
If a mother uses absorbica during her pregnancy or at the time of conception, the baby may die, have serious birth abnormalities, miscarry, or be born prematurely. Major birth abnormalities of the baby’s ears, eyes, face, skull, heart, and other body parts can result from even one dose of isotretinoin.
