What is acyclovir?
The medication acyclovir is antiviral. It inhibits the herpes virus’s ability to develop and spread within the body. Although acyclovir cannot treat herpes, it can decrease its symptoms.
Herpes virus diseases, including genital herpes, cold sores, shingles, and chicken pox, are treated with acyclovir.
The sole application for Sitavig buccal tablets is the treatment of cold sores on the lips. Genital herpes cannot be treated with Sitavig. APO 042 Pill Acyclovir on Pill Recognizer

A small child could choke if an acyclovir buccal pill is given to them.
Before measuring a dose, give the oral suspension (liquid) a shake. Use the supplied dosing syringe or an instrument designed to measure medication dosage (not a kitchen spoon).
Doses of acyclovir are determined by weight, particularly in kids and teens. If you gain or lose weight, your dose requirements may also alter. APO 042 Pill Acyclovir on Pill Recognizer
